The three risks almost no guide publishes — and how we operate each
Uco Valley thermal swing
The most underestimated and the easiest to solve. A 32°C afternoon can end in a 14°C night. Pashminas, outdoor heaters and a transition to an enclosed space for the second half of the party are not a luxury — they are basic operations, and they enter the event design from the proposal stage.
Zonda wind
Hot, dry wind descending from the Andes, most frequent between August and November. You cannot forecast it months in advance — what you do is have a covered alternative of equal capacity, decidable the day before, written into the proposal. That is the standard protocol here.
Summer hail
Between December and March, late-afternoon convection can generate short storms with hail. For a wedding, that means a structural summer Plan B, not an improvised one: at Huentala, the ceremony moves into the Winery — the official text of our Plan B.
How to use this table to choose your date
Choose first the landscape you want in the photographs — green vineyard, golden harvest or snow-capped Andes — and only then the date. The season determines the aesthetic of the entire wedding; the exact date within it is negotiable with us.

What couples ask before locking a date
What is the most requested month for a wedding in Mendoza?
November. Peak season runs October to April, and November concentrates the highest demand because it combines green vineyard, mild temperature, long days and lower storm probability than mid-summer.
Does it rain in Mendoza?
Little. The climate is semi-arid and most of the annual rainfall concentrates between December and March, in short intense late-afternoon showers. Winter is nearly dry. Even so, every outdoor wedding has a weather plan: our official protocol moves the ceremony into the Winery — same capacity, decided the day before.
What is the Zonda wind, and does it affect a wedding?
A foehn wind that descends from the Andes — hot, very dry, dust-laden. Most frequent between August and November, it can shut down an outdoor event for a few hours. It is a real risk: our covered contingency plan applies to any wedding scheduled in that window.
Is it cold at night, even in summer?
In the Uco Valley, yes — the most common mistake couples make from a distance. Gualtallary sits between 1,100 and 1,500 meters and the daily thermal swing is high: a 32°C afternoon can become a 14°C night. We plan pashminas, outdoor heaters and a transition to an enclosed space for the second half of the party — including in January.
When is harvest?
February through April, varying by variety and altitude. High-altitude vineyards like those in Gualtallary harvest later, typically March to April. Marrying during harvest means an active vineyard, golden tones and the highest tourism demand of the year — book with more lead time.
